Bone Density around Titanium Dental Implants Coating Tested/Coated with Chitosan or Melatonin: An Evaluation via Microtomography in Jaws of Beagle Dogs

چکیده
Peri-implant bone density plays an important role in the osseointegration of dental implants. The aim study was to evaluate via micro-CT, Hounsfield units, around implants coated with chitosan and melatonin compare it a conventional etched surface after 12 weeks immediate post-extraction placement jaws Beagle dogs. Six dogs were used, 48 randomly placed: three groups—melatonin, chitosan, control. Seven 10 mm × regions interest defined each implant (2 crestal zone, 4 medial 1 apical zone). A total 336 sites studied AMIDE tool, using Norton Gamble classification assess density. effect on coating variables (chitosan, melatonin, control) at crestal, medial, positions (P2, P3, P4, M1) analyzed bivariate multivariate levels (linear regression). Adjusted effects did not indicate statistical significance for coatings (p = 0.653) but different ROIs < 0.001) 0.032). Micro-CT, appropriate software, proved be powerful tool measuring osseointegration.

Ag-plasma modification enhances bone apposition around titanium dental implants: an animal study in Labrador dogs
Dental implants with proper antibacterial ability as well as ideal osseointegration are being actively pursued. The antimicrobial ability of titanium implants can be significantly enhanced via modification with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs). However, the high mobility of Ag NPs results in their potential cytotoxicity. The silver plasma immersion ion-implantation (Ag-PIII) technique may remedy t...
متن کاملBiologic Width around Dental Implants: An Updated Review
Soft tissue-implant interface is an important anatomical feature contributing to the long-term success of dental implants. Based on the available evidence, different factors may influence biological width around implants including the surgical technique, implant loading, implant surface properties, abutment materials, implant position, and width of the peri-implant mucosa. The purpose of the pr...

There has been a concerted effort among material scientists and clinicians worldwide to improve the performance of dental implants, with the aim of accelerating and maintaining their integration into hard and soft tissues and/or extend their range of application. The use of osseointegrated implants in the treatment of edentulous patients has become a common alternative to conventional prostheti...
متن کاملHydroxyapatite coating converts fibrous tissue to bone around loaded implants.
In previous studies, we have demonstrated a fibrocartilaginous membrane around hydroxyapatite-coated implants subjected to micromovement in contrast to the fibrous connective tissue which predominates around similarly loaded titanium alloy implants. In the present study, in mature dogs, we investigated the effect of immobilising titanium (Ti)- or hydroxyapatite (HA)-coated implants already surr...
متن کاملDental follicle stem cells in bone regeneration on titanium implants
BACKGROUND We aimed to demonstrate that DF stem cells from impacted molars and canines can be used to improve bone regeneration on titanium implants surfaces. This study highlights the presence of stem cells in DF, their potential to adhere and differentiate into osteoblasts on different types of titanium surfaces. RESULTS Isolated cells from the harvested DF tissue from impacted canine/molar...
